Feeling safe, calm, and completely at ease, an Indian woman in Singapore shared a video emphasising how secure the city felt for women even at 3am, a moment that caught social media users’ attention.
Shared on Instagram by Kritika Jain, the clip shows her walking alone through quiet, empty streets in the early hours of the morning. In the caption, she candidly explained why the experience felt so striking to her.
“It’s 3 am in Singapore and I am walking home! There’s no second thought, no checking behind me and I don’t feel scared at all,” she wrote, observing a sense of freedom several women rarely experienced at night.
Comparing it to her life back in India, Kritika added, “Back in India, I would never even think of stepping out alone at this hour. But here it almost feels normal.” For her, this sense of security wasn’t about iconic skylines or popular tourist spots, but something far more fundamental.
“In Singapore, this is not a luxury. It’s just a regular part of life. A level of safety I don’t take for granted,” she wrote, before concluding, “It’s not the tourist spot or skyline that make me love this city. ITS THIS.”
