Prime Video’s Invincible Series Is in the Endgame Now, as Lee Pace’s Thragg Debuts in Season 4

The wait for new episodes of Prime Video’s animated Invincible series is almost over. The streamer hosted an NYCC panel that included the debut of a new Burger Mart teaser trailer and news of Season 4’s release window, March 2026. But the biggest news to come out of the panel involved the revelation that Lee Pace (Foundation) is joining the voice cast as Thragg.

Fans of the Invincible comics will understand why this is such a big deal for the animated series. With the almighty Thragg joining the fray, it’s no stretch to borrow a phrase from another iconic superhero universe and say that we’re in the endgame now. Why is Thragg such a big deal? What does his arrival mean for Steven Yuen’s Mark Grayson and the rest of Earth’s heroes? Here’s what you need to know.

Who Is Lee Pace’s Invincible Villain Thragg?

As the series has unfolded, Mark has learned more and more about the Viltrum Empire and his father’s own role in helping pave the way for Earth to be conquered by these ruthless alien warriors. In Season 3, Mark earned his greatest victory to date by defeating Conquest, a brutal soldier widely regarded as the second most powerful man in the Viltrum Empire. Thragg would be the first.

Thragg is the Grand Regent of the Viltrum Empire, making him the secret mastermind pulling the strings of characters like Omni-Man (JK Simmons), Anissa (Shantel VanSanten), and Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Thragg rules Viltrum with an iron fist. In this cutthroat society, might makes right, and no one has more might than Thragg. He’s one of the few survivors of the devastating Viltrumite Civil War, and he’s devoted to rebuilding their civilization’s power after that brush with extinction.
