Lego Mario Kart characters can now compete against Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles thanks to the launch of the first Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Lego sets. Exactly one year after Lego Super Mario expanded beyond platforming playsets with buildable karts, Lego Sonic the Hedgehog has made the leap from platforming to the racetrack. The Lego Sonic Racing launch lineup includes Sonic’s Speedster Lightning Car and a two-pack featuring Silver’s Car vs. Knuckles’ Monster Truck.
Check out both Lego Sonic Racing sets below. We’ve also included a list of the Lego Sonic platforming playsets available in stores now. A handful of Sonic Lego sets are retiring soon, including the priciest build in the lineup. The 590-piece Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster Lego set is on sale for only $48 (was $80) at the Lego Store and $64 at Amazon.

This 378-piece playset includes Knuckles and Silver minifigures, their cars from Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and several accessories, including a toolbox on wheels and a starting light. The toolbox has two Chaos Emeralds on top and pretend tools for the minifigures to hold when working on their vehicles.
This is the first appearance of Silver the Hedgehog in the Lego Sonic collection. Measurements for his car aren’t included in the listing, but it looks to be roughly the same size has the Speedster Lightning Race Car. Knuckles the Enchidna drives a larger red and black monster truck decorated with flames. The completed monster truck model is 5 x 3.5 x 2.5 inches.
$10
The 126-piece Speedster Lightning Race Car measures 4.5 x 2 x 1 inches and comes with a Lego Sonic minifigure. If you open the front hood, you’ll find a Chaos Emerald. The playset also comes with three Gold Rings with suction cups that stick to flat surfaces.
If you don’t own a copy of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the Amazon-exclusive edition with a bonus double-sided poster is on sale for $45 at Amazon for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
$48 (was $80) at Lego Store | Retiring soon
Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster is one of the coolest playsets in Lego’s Sonic the Hedgehog lineup. The 590-piece building set has a bunch of interactive components and features seven characters, including three minifigures: Super Sonic, Shadow, and Dr. Eggman. Two of the characters–Pocky and Pecky–are minifigure accessories for Shadow and Super Sonic to hold. The remaining two characters are small buildable figures of Egg Pawn Badnik and reprogrammed Gun Wing.
Dr. Eggman’s Egg Drillster vehicle is the largest portion of the build. The movable vehicle measures 9.5 x 5 x 3 inches and has a rotating drill as well as a dock for Gun Wing. The set also has a small laboratory build with a desk, minifigure chair, and a destructible wall. You can knock down the wall with the vehicle’s spinning drill or by using the buildable speed sphere launcher piloted by Super Sonic or Shadow.

Super Sonic vs. Egg Drillster is one of a handful of Sonic playsets recently discontinued by Lego. Those three sets will probably sell out soon, just like Knuckles and the Master Emerald Shrine and the Shadow the Hedgehog display model.
