SINGAPORE – The bodies of a man and a woman – believed to be a father and his daughter – were found on Oct 6 in a Sengkang flat.
The man’s body, which was in a highly decomposed state, was found in a bedroom, while the woman’s body was found near the main door in the living room, reported Shin Min Daily News.
The bodies were discovered at 1.35pm on Oct 6 in a flat on the eighth floor of Block 324D Sengkang East Way, the police said on Oct 7.
The man and the 47-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene, the police said, adding that the man’s age had yet to be determined.
The police are appealing for the next of kin of Ms Xu Na – the woman who died – to come forward.

When The Straits Times arrived at the Sengkang unit, it was locked, with no shoes or other belongings outside.
A neighbour, who lives on the same floor and declined to be identified, said: “The father, mother and their daughter moved into this unit in 2001, the year our family did. The three of them would keep to themselves and wouldn’t speak much to us.”
The neighbour added that the mother died in 2017. The father, she said, appeared to be in his 60s or 70s.
“Since the mother died, it’s just been the two of them. But we rarely see them because they’re always at home.”
A retiree in her 70s who lives directly above the unit said she had noticed a strong smell for a few days.
“It was so strong that I could smell it even after I closed the windows,” she said, adding that she did not report it as she thought it was the stench from rubbish.
Investigations are ongoing.
