Cyclist, 39, dies after getting trapped under wheels of bus in Admiralty Drive accident

A Tower Transit spokesperson told The Straits Times it is aware of the incident involving bus service 859, adding: “We are deeply saddened to learn that the cyclist has passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family during this difficult time.”

Based on preliminary information, the bus was travelling along Admiralty Drive when the cyclist moved across the road and into the bus’ path.

The spokesperson said the bus could not stop in time, resulting in the collision, and noted that the authorities will establish the full circumstances.

According to Shin Min Daily News, a resident saw the cyclist trapped under the wheels of the bus. The bus’s windscreen was cracked and bloodstains could be seen on the road.

More than 20 passengers were onboard at the time, but none of them was injured.
