Member of Parliament Charlene Chen has urged Tampines residents to clean up after themselves following repeated reports of littering at void decks.
In her Nov 23 Facebook post, Ms Chen shared a photo of a void deck with bags of rubbish lying near a dustbin. A box had been left on top of the bin, while stains were visible on the floor.
In her caption, she reminded residents to keep the area tidy, stressing that “leaving your garbage by the bin, whether bagged or not, is littering”.
She also emphasised the importance of personal responsibility, adding that placing rubbish beside the bin is “still considered illegal disposal”.
“Our environment reflects who we are as a community,” Ms Chen wrote.
