I last had this chicken rice 3 years ago and it’s even better than I remember?!?!! Aaaah chicken rice. The quintessential Singaporean hawker centre dish. HOW can a plant-based chicken rice be so juicy and delicious? Oh. Uncle has got it DOWN here at 📍 33 Vegetarian at 409 AMK Food Centre!! Serving his chicken rice set with TWO types of ‘chicken’ for texture and variety – hainan style and fried bean curd roll. No boring bites here! Of course he’s giving us the trifecta of sauces: dark soy, ginger and chilli (Singapore doesn’t play when it comes to condiments) and even the veggies are perfectly cooked. Daikon broth HITS and hits good. Hit me againnnn 😩 The hainan chicken dupe is so textured, so layered and smothered in fragrant sesame oil goodness. Now that I eat chicken I can tell you most vegan chicken doesn’t taste this good 😅 Hainanese chicken rice really is one of my fave foods and I would gladly eat this – it really is so satisfying. VERY GOOD.
