Civil servants to receive 1.3-month year-end bonus, junior-grade officers will get additional one-time payment

“The government will continue to adopt a progressive approach in determining the AVC for civil servants,” it added.

Ms Cham Hui Fong, deputy secretary-general of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), said that the labour movement and the public sector unions welcome this year’s year-end annual variable component payment for civil servants, describing it as “significant”.

“Including the mid-year payments, the full-year AVC is one of the highest in recent years. This outcome comes after negotiations we have had with the PSD,” she added.

The Amalgamated Union of Public Employees (AUPE) had negotiated for the payout together with the public sector unions and NTUC.

The bonus “is a fair recognition by the government for our civil servants’ work, in a rapidly evolving environment, as the economy stabilises amid ongoing uncertainties”, said Mr Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari, general secretary of AUPE.

“AUPE will continue to work closely with the government in upholding the interests of our civil servants, ensuring that they are adequately recognised for their dedication and contributions.”
