Battlefield 6 is officially showing off the newest map coming to the game in just a couple days, with players dropping into the Hollywood-inspired Eastwood for city combat. The newest numbered entry in the beloved shooter franchise saw an explosively successful launch last month, with hundreds of thousands of players flocking to the shooter. Battlefield 6 peaked at nearly 750,000 players just after its launch, with EA and DICE continuing to push out more updates for the game. Now, Battlefield 6 is giving an early teaser of its next new map.
Battlefield 6 offers a wide variety of different maps for players to play, with several unique environments for players to explore and duke it out in combat. Battlefield 6 features more than 10 different maps for players to try out, with a mix of big-city environments for close-quarters combat like Manhattan Bridge and open combat zones like Operation Firestorm. The shooter’s “Portal” system has also given fans the chance to experiment with custom maps in Battlefield 6, offering unique new types of challenges. Battlefield 6 is now getting ready to roll out its newest locale.
Battlefield 6 Reveals Hollywood-Inspired Eastwood Map
Battlefield 6 shared a teaser for the new Eastwood map on the game’s official social media accounts, set to launch in just a couple days. Eastwood looks to take heavy inspiration from Hollywood and Los Angeles as a whole, with players battling in city streets, lavish mansions, and more sunny California settings. The teaser trailer even shows off players traversing a whole golf course, with Eastwood also coming with the addition of a new golf cart vehicle in Battlefield 6. Battlefield 6‘s Eastwood is currently scheduled to launch on Tuesday, November 18.
Battlefield 6‘s new Hollywood-themed map isn’t the first major American city to feature an in-game map within the shooter. New York City saw multiple maps based on the metropolis debut with the game’s launch, with both “Manhattan Bridge” and “Empire State” offering different viewpoints of the iconic city. Siege of Cairo also takes inspiration from the titular city in Egypt, offering similar close-quarters combat with players able to duck in and out of buildings and use the city environment to their advantage.
A brand-new map coming to Battlefield 6 is far from the only major changes planned to come to the shooter in the near future. A recent datamine from the game suggested that Battlefield 6 could have as many as nine new game modes in development, hinting at new game modes like Convoy, Tug of War, and Payload among others. The launch of Eastwood will also ring in the launch of Phase 2 of the game’s Season 1, bringing the “Sabotage” limited-time game mode and multiple updates to the RedSec battle royale mode. Battlefield 6 fans should have lots to look forward to from the shooter in just a couple of days.
