New academic imprint ThinkNanyang aims to boost Chinese-language research, promote scholarly works


SINGAPORE – A new academic imprint ThinkNanyang, which aims to advance Chinese-language research in Singapore and South-east Asia, was launched on Nov 16.

Published by Focus Publishing – an arm of SPH Media, which also publishes The Straits Times – the imprint will focus on subjects related to the Chinese diaspora, including culture, society, history and philosophy.

It also aims to establish a specialised platform to promote influential scholarly works and foster interdisciplinary discourse in the humanities.

An imprint refers to a distinct brand or division within a publishing house that focuses on a specific genre, market or type of book.
