Elderly man dies after incident at Laguna Park, police arrest 23-year-old and seize penknives


A 68-year-old man has died after an incident at Laguna Park condominium on Wednesday (Nov 13), with a 23-year-old arrested at the scene.

Police said they received calls for assistance at about 12.45pm at 5000C Marine Parade Road. When officers arrived, they found the elderly man injured. He was taken unconscious to the hospital, where he later died.

A 23-year-old man was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by a dangerous weapon. Two penknives were seized as case exhibits.

It’s unclear how the two are related.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed it received a call at 1.10pm and transported one person to Changi General Hospital.

Block cordoned off

When Stomp arrived at about 4pm, the 13th floor of Block 5000C Marine Parade Road had been cordoned off, with one police officer stationed on the 12th floor and another on the 14th floor.
