As the weekend approaches, you might start to wonder which games you should spend your free time on \u2014 that is, if you’re not playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time<\/em> remake on Nintendo Switch 2.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you’re like me, you’re actively avoiding games that take too long to finish until Grand Theft Auto 6<\/em> arrives. Thankfully, most of this week’s free-to-keep and free-to-play games don’t have an actual ending, so you can put them down whenever you please. You can try one run and then move on to the next one, or you can play them obsessively until GTA 6<\/em> launches at midnight.<\/p>\n Before you give this week’s games a try, don’t forget to claim this month’s PlayStation Plus freebies, which we covered in last week’s article.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Last Gambit<\/em> is a roguelite game that turns chess into a magical battlefield. Instead of starting with 16 pieces like a standard game of chess, you must obtain them as you progress. You can combine and upgrade them however you see fit in order to build your army and become the strongest you can be.<\/p>\n This is a fresh take on a centuries-old game. Last Gambit<\/em> is free while in early access. When it fully launches on Nov. 13, it will cost $4.99. Claim it before then to add it to your Steam library, and it’ll be yours to keep.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you enjoy city builders like SimCity<\/em> and Cities: Skylines<\/em>, Flotsam is for you. However, instead of just magically making buildings appear, you have to gather trash and resources floating in the ocean to build your town.<\/p>\n As you go, you’ll come across survivors and pets that might just want to move in if you make them a nice home. With the tech tree, you can unlock new buildings and gradually improve the town, eventually turning it into a sustainable city.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n You will want to give Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms<\/em> a try if you’re a D&D fan or a gamer who loves strategy management games. There are dozens of champions to choose from, and each one has its own unique set of abilities and powers. It’s all about creating a stress-free strategy that suits you. As an idler, the game progresses even if you close it. You only have to manage your party and then send them off to battle.<\/p>\n The game is free to play, but if you claim it on Epic Games, you will also receive the Morte’s Renown Pack for free. All you need to do is log into the game through the Epic Games Store before the offer expires on Nov. 12. The pack will grant 32 platinum chests, 2 week-long potions, a Kapak Draconian familiar, as well as champions Morte, Donaar, Sentry, and Sheila.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Until Nov. 9, players can experience what it’s like ruling a fantasy realm with Age of Wonders 4<\/em>, a mythical turn-based strategy game. While it’s not available to keep, gamers who fall in love with Age of Wonders 4<\/em> can purchase it for 60% off thanks to Steam’s weekend deal.<\/p>\n You can team up with your friends, don eccentric masks, and pull off adrenaline-pumping heists with Payday 3<\/em>‘s free weekend on Steam. If you don’t want to let go once the trial ends on Nov. 9, you have until Thursday to purchase the game for 70% off.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From Nov. 5 until Nov. 8, Xbox Game Pass members across all tiers will be able to play Payday 3<\/em>, Nowhere Prophet<\/em>, Ball x Pit<\/em>, Deceive Inc<\/em>, and Age of Wonders 4<\/em>. They will also have access to a two-hour trial of Ixion<\/em>.<\/p>\n If you don’t have Game Pass, there’s also something for you. All Xbox players can play Anno 117: Pax Romana<\/em> and Crime Boss: Rockay City<\/em> for free until Sunday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you have an active Humble Bundle subscription, there are plenty of great games for you to claim this month. November’s Humble Choice bundle includes eight games, and it’s valued at around $250.
