Tampines residents now have one less dining option after Maxim Tam Chiak Kopitiam closed its outlet in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n
The 24-hour coffee shop, which opened last October, had operated for a little over a year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
News of the closure was first shared by Facebook page I love Tampines on Sunday (Nov 1), where a netizen who visited the coffee shop confirmed that it had ceased operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Hi all, I’ve checked and confirmed that all the stores are closed,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Others, meanwhile, shared their own observations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Knew it. ‘Cause every time I pass by [it’s] so quiet. I drive pass to go Ikea and it’s like a ghost town,” one wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Another commented: “It’s not the coffee shop’s concept or branding that doesn’t work. That place is just a ‘dead town’ now. There’s new BTO estate, but the crowd is insufficient to support the business.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
