A 58-year-old man in Thailand has been arrested after allegedly beating his ex-wife’s new boyfriend to death in a shocking incident in Chachoengsao.

The incident happened at around 10pm on November 1, near Mae Lang Market in Bang Khla district.

Police arrived at the scene and found the 55-year-old victim, identified as Nimit, lying beside his black pickup truck with severe injuries. Rescue workers attempted CPR but were unable to save him.

The suspect, identified as Chaturong, was reportedly found hiding nearby with a wooden club and a knife. Police eventually persuaded him to surrender.

According to the victim’s 30-year-old girlfriend, she had ended her relationship with Chaturong about two months earlier and had since started seeing Nimit.

However, she claimed that her ex-partner continued harassing the couple despite their breakup.

Chaturong allegedly told police that he was jealous after discovering that his former partner was still seeing Nimit. He claimed he had travelled from another province and secretly entered her rented room before waiting for the couple to return.

He reportedly admitted that he had intended to confront his ex-wife but ended up attacking Nimit following an argument.

The suspect allegedly confessed to the killing, citing jealousy and anger as his reasons.

Police have charged him with intentional murder, and investigations are ongoing.
