**Istanbul Airport Beats Changi Airport To Be Named World’s Best, S’poreans Question Ranking**

Singapore’s Changi Airport has been beaten to the top spot by Istanbul Airport in a UK travel magazine’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Istanbul Airport came in first with a score of 94.29, narrowly ahead of Changi Airport, which scored 93.92. Dubai International Airport took third place.

However, some Singaporeans were unconvinced by the results, with Reddit users questioning how Istanbul Airport managed to outrank Changi.

Some shared complaints about their experiences in Istanbul, including expensive food, unfriendly staff, long walking distances and poorly maintained toilets.

Others also described its immigration process as tedious and boarding procedures as messy.

Not everyone agreed, though. Some travellers praised Istanbul Airport for its efficiency and said they experienced minimal queues.

Interestingly, Changi Airport was still crowned the World’s Best Airport in Skytrax’s 2026 World Airport Awards, while Istanbul Airport came in eighth.

Do you think Istanbul Airport deserves to be ranked above Changi, or is Singapore’s airport still in a league of its own?
