Apple is reportedly preparing to refresh three of its iPad models in the first half of 2027, bringing updated chips and display technology to its tablet lineup.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to unveil new versions of the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and entry-level iPad within the first six months of next year.

The next iPad Pro is expected to feature the M6 chip and a vapor-chamber cooling system to dissipate heat more effectively. The latter could help the tablet sustain higher performance during demanding workloads, such as video editing, gaming, and other intensive tasks.

The iPad Air is also reportedly in line for a significant display upgrade. After introducing OLED to the iPad mini, Apple is reportedly planning a similar transition for the iPad Air. However, unlike the flagship iPad Pro, the iPad Air is expected to use the M5 chip rather than the newer M6.

As for the entry-level iPad, it could receive an upgrade to the A19 chip, alongside the N1 wireless networking chip with Wi-Fi 7 support and a C1X modem.

Beyond the iPad lineup, we are also expecting new iPhones. The company is widely expected to introduce the standard iPhone 18 models, along with the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 during the same timeframe.

If these reports are accurate, Apple will have a substantial lineup of hardware refreshes to kick off 2027. The flurry of launches would also reflect CEO John Ternus’s reported strategy of bringing new products to market faster and more frequently.
