With the iPhone Duo officially launching last week (late October 2026), market research firm TrendForce has released its latest projections for Apple\u2019s first foldable iPhone, forecasting its performance for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.<\/p>\n
TrendForce estimates that Apple will ship around 5 million iPhone Duo units in 2026 alone<\/b>, giving it nearly 25%<\/b> of the global foldable smartphone market. This projection aligns with Counterpoint Research\u2019s estimate that Apple will account for roughly one in four foldable phone shipments this year.<\/p>\n
That would be a notable debut for a company entering a segment that Samsung and other Android phone makers have spent years developing.<\/p>\n
Apple could gain further ground next year. TrendForce projections estimate that iPhone Duo could capture nearly 30% of the foldable market in 2027<\/b>, putting it close behind market leader Samsung, which has a forecast of 31.9% market share.<\/p>\n
Early demand for the iPhone Duo appears encouraging for Apple. Its debut foldable phone reportedly attracted stronger-than-expected pre-orders, prompting Apple to increase component orders by 44%.
