More places to go<\/strong><\/p>\n Growing demand has driven the airline\u2019s expansion. It has recently launched flights to Shenzhen and Changsha in China and has also reconnected with the country\u2019s southwestern provincial capital of Chengdu, and the Japanese city of Fukuoka.<\/p>\n From December 2, it will also resume services between Kuala Lumpur and the South Korean city of Busan for the first time since 1998. The four weekly non-stop flights will complement the airline\u2019s usual daily service to Seoul.<\/p>\n Existing routes are experiencing expanded services too, with connections to Fukuoka increasing from five flights a week to daily flights, Brisbane, in Australia, from six a week to daily, and Surabaya, in Indonesia, rising to as many as 16 flights each week.<\/p>\n The airline\u2019s passenger community is growing along with its network. By the beginning of last month, 10.6 million passengers had flown with Malaysia Airlines, a year-on-year increase of 13 per cent.<\/p>\n Bryan Foong, CEO of airline business at MAG, says: \u201cThe numbers matter, but what matters more is what they mean for our customers: greater confidence that when they choose to fly with us, they can count on a more reliable journey.\u201d<\/p>\n The people who make the difference<\/strong><\/p>\n That reliability is matched by a service that passengers remember. At last month\u2019s 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, Malaysia Airlines won the Best Airline Staff in Asia award and was ranked third in the World\u2019s Best Airline Cabin Crew category, up from eighth place last year.<\/p>\n The airline also reported an average on-time performance of 91.38 per cent, peaking at 93.8 per cent in April, while expanding its online booking options with added discounts and deals for faster, easier travel from start to finish.<\/p>\n \u201cThis recognition is a reflection of the collective efforts of our people across the airport, on board and behind the scenes, who come together every day to deliver Malaysian Hospitality throughout the customer journey,\u201d Bakar says.<\/p>\n \u201cReaching this milestone after years of consistently climbing the global rankings is a significant achievement for our national carrier and a direct reward for our team\u2019s relentless effort. It is this spirit of warm, thoughtful and consistent service that sets the Malaysia Airlines experience apart.\u201d<\/p>\n For passengers with a discerning palate, the in-flight menu offers plenty to look forward to. Recent highlights include a Best of Asia series celebrating the \u201cdepth and diversity\u201d of Vietnamese cuisine, and a Best of Malaysia menu honouring the culinary history of the southern state of Johor, served to mark Malaysia Day on September 16.<\/p>\n Diners have welcomed the changes. Since the airline brought its catering in-house in 2023 and established its catering arm, MAG Culinary Solutions, in September last year, customer satisfaction with in-flight dining has risen from 72 per cent to 78 per cent, while catering on-time performance now stands at 99.9 per cent.<\/p>\n A welcome that goes back decades<\/strong><\/p>\n Back on the ground, Malaysia is continuing to welcome the world. The country recorded 21.2 million international arrivals in the first six months of this year, up 2.5 per cent year on year, according to figures released at September\u2019s 59th National MATTA Fair in the capital.<\/p>\n As Malaysia\u2019s national carrier, the airline draws on a heritage that dates back to the 1930s and its long tradition of sharing the country\u2019s renowned hospitality with the world. Its Business Class offerings are led by its newest wide-body Airbus A330neo aircraft, with fully flat beds, individual privacy doors, gourmet dining and 17.3-inch 4K screens with Bluetooth pairing, all backed by the service for which the airline is known.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we talk about a premium experience, it is often the details that make the difference,\u201d Bakar says. \u201cFor us, that comes through in three key areas: cabin comfort, in-flight dining and services by our cabin crew.
