{"id":95544,"date":"2026-10-25T20:59:05","date_gmt":"2026-10-25T12:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=95544"},"modified":"2026-10-25T20:59:05","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T12:59:05","slug":"psi-forecast-to-be-in-good-to-moderate-range-on-oct-26-showers-over-spore-may-reduce-haze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=95544","title":{"rendered":"PSI forecast to be in \u2018good to moderate\u2019 range on Oct 26; showers over S\u2019pore may reduce haze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"text-primary article-summary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 <!-- -->Singaporeans may get some respite from the haze on Oct 26, as \u201cgood to moderate\u201d air quality is expected across the island.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In its daily haze advisory on the evening of Oct 25, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said the PSI is forecast to be in the range of 70 to 100.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Air quality is considered good to moderate when the PSI \u2013 a 24-hour rolling average of six key air pollutants \u2013 is in the range of zero to 100, and unhealthy when it is in the range of 101 to 200.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">NEA said that showers are expected over Singapore and nearby areas on Oct 26.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">\u201cWith winds expected to blow from the south-west or west, the likelihood of smoke haze affecting Singapore may be reduced,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"responsive-iframe-base st_visuals st_visuals-embed\" title=\"st_visuals embed\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/multimedia\/graphics\/2026\/08\/singapore-haze-widget\/index.html\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"accelerometer;falseclipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share;\" loading=\"eager\" data-testid=\"responsiveIframe\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">It added that this is expected to continue on Oct 27 and 28,<!-- --> with showers over and around Singapore expected to improve the haze situation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/haze-in-singapore-air-quality-improves-as-pm2-5-readings-in-3-regions-return-to-normal?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><span class=\"inline font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"typography-test-id\">hourly PM2.5 readings returned to normal across all five regions in Singapore<\/span><\/a> on the morning of Oct 25, while the 24-hour PSI levels showed a more gradual decrease.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">While smoke haze was observed over Kalimantan on Oct 25, it did not drift towards Singapore, said NEA in its daily advisory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">At 8pm, PSI readings were in the \u201cgood to moderate\u201d range in four parts of Singapore \u2013 the north (92), south (90), east (98), and central (96) regions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The reading in the west of the island was still in the unhealthy band, at 105.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Meanwhile, the PM2.5 readings in most regions in Singapore ranged between 26 and 39, within the \u201cnormal\u201d band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In the west, however, the PM2.5 reading was 60, in the \u201celevated\u201d band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">PM2.5 readings are gauged hourly and reflect the current air quality.
