ASUS has launched the new Zenbook 14 in Singapore, with the AMD model priced at $3,299 and the Intel version at $3,499. Both have an interesting count of 24GB of memory – instead of the usual 16GB or 32GB, 1TB of storage and a 70Wh battery. That gives them a fairly similar starting point for a comparison between the two mobile processors, which I’m looking forward to starting.

Anyway, the Intel model, the UX3480AA, is available now from the ASUS Online Store and authorised retailers. It’s powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor and has a 14-inch, 3K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the AMD model UX3480KA, uses a Ryzen AI 7 345 processor and has a 14-inch, 1,920 x 1,200 OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It will be available through the ASUS Online Store at a later date.

Photo: ASUS

And that is worth noting if you want to compare performance or battery life. A higher-resolution, faster-refresh display can affect both, so the two laptops are not quite on equal footing in every respect. Still, having the same memory, storage and battery capacity makes this more interesting than comparing two laptops with entirely different configurations. Both processors also have an NPU rated at up to 50 TOPS, and ASUS says both models are Copilot+ PCs.

Both Zenbook 14 weighs 1.3kg and comes in Arctic Blue or Komodo Coral. Its lid is made from ASUS’ ceraluminum material, and is designed to resist scratches, smudges and everyday wear – the same material we saw in the Zenbook S14 and S16 a couple of years back. ASUS also claims up to 29 hours of battery life, but I have my reservations for one of the two laptops achieving this.

ASUS also says eligible buyers will get three months of Google AI Pro at no extra cost, including access to Google’s Gemini models and 5TB of cloud storage. The offer can be redeemed through the MyASUS app.

The Zenbook 14 UX3480AA is now available at the ASUS Online store, as well as at authorised retailers. The AMD version aka UX3480KA will be available later.
