The Core model is physically identical to the previous generation $200 Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, with integrated pro gaming features like adjustable-tension thumbsticks, wrap-around rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks. The only difference is that the original Elite controller comes with more accessories: extra sets of paddles, thumbsticks, D-pad, and a travel case. The Elite Series 2 Core doesn’t come with any of those accessories. You can buy them separately as a component pack for $59.99.

The price drop may be a precursor the Series 3 release

IGN’s Jacqueline Thomas reported on rumored leaks that the Elite Series 3 release might be on the horizon. I’m not very optimistic, however, that the launch price will be the same as the Xbox Series 2 controller when it first released at $179.99. Given that the price of the Elite Series 2 with component pack is $200, I expect the same price or higher.

How to Follow IGN Deals Recommendations

The IGN Deals team has over 30 years of combined experience finding the best discounts and preorders available online.
