{"id":93664,"date":"2026-10-17T10:14:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T02:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=93664"},"modified":"2026-10-17T10:14:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T02:14:00","slug":"activesg-outdoor-sports-facilities-reopen-on-oct-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=93664","title":{"rendered":"ActiveSG outdoor sports facilities reopen on Oct 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"text-primary article-summary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013<!-- --> All ActiveSG sport facilities have resumed operations on Oct 17, as haze conditions eased slightly with the <!-- -->24-hour Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) readings<!-- --> across Singapore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/haze-in-singapore-psi-back-to-unhealthy-range-pm2-5-remains-elevated-in-all-regions?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><span class=\"inline font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"typography-test-id\">dipping back to the \u201cunhealthy\u201d range overnight<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">A midnight haze advisory<!-- --> update on its website ActiveSG Circle \u2013 Sport Singapore\u2019s online platform to promote participation in sports \u2013 said that the facilities will resume operations according to their respective operating hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">It advised visitors to monitor prevailing air quality conditions and adjust their activities accordingly, with vulnerable groups encouraged to exercise extra caution when participating in outdoor activities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">\u201cSportSG will continue to monitor the haze situation closely and adjust operations where necessary,\u201d the advisory said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">ActiveSG first announced the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/activesg-closes-outdoor-facilities-in-central-southern-and-western-singapore-as-haze-worsens?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><span class=\"inline font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"typography-test-id\"> temporary closure of all outdoor and non-air-conditioned facilities<\/span><\/a> at its sport centres in the south, east, west and central areas on Oct 15, when the PSI reached \u201cvery unhealthy\u201d levels and hit 212 at noon that day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The Kallang, in an Instagram story on the morning of <!-- -->Oct 17<!-- -->, said outdoor operations have resumed at some of its facilities, after they were suspended a day earlier due to air quality conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The affected venues are: <!-- -->OCBC Aquatic Centre, Water Sports Centre, Kallang Football Hub, Kallang Tennis Hub outdoor courts, and all outdoor community facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">It added that operations at the Water Sports Centre will be conducted within a restricted water area, which will be monitored throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">According to an<!-- --> announcement posted on its website<!-- -->, The Kallang said all outdoor activities will be suspended when the 24-hour PSI reaches \u201cvery unhealthy\u201d levels, with readings between 201 and 300.
