Fast travel <\/strong>is tucked away until you make a fair amount of progress in <\/em>Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse<\/em>. If you want to revisit old haunts in the early game and uncover treasures you missed, you’ll have to go on foot \u2014 or just hold off for a couple of hours. Fast travel takes some work to unlock, though it’s not something you can miss. Once you do unlock it, you can zip back and forth anywhere you’ve already visited.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Below, we explain when you unlock fast travel in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse<\/em> and how it works.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Fast travel unlocks automatically when you meet the Boatman<\/strong>, though that won’t happen for a while. The door that takes you to one of his ferry stops is tucked away deep in the Catacombs<\/strong>. You can only access the catacombs after defeating three bosses around Paris \u2014 Medusa, Joan at the top of Prison Tower, and The Fallen \u2014 and obtaining their emblems.<\/p>\n Vast and imposing as the catacombs are, there’s only one way down. Follow the path into the depths, using the green wall markers as a guide if you ever get turned around or lose your way. Make sure to open the pathways back to the mirror room as you descend, so you can quickly return to and from the depths via elevator.<\/p>\n At the very bottom of the Catacombs, you’ll encounter Death. It’s a mandatory boss and a mandatory loss. You’ll lose the fight as soon as Death touches you, which is about two seconds into the battle. A few cutscenes will play, and then you have to guide Rose back up through the Catacombs. That sounds worse than it actually is. A few wall-jumping, spike-avoiding platforming segments are all it takes to reach the Death’s Throat area again.<\/p>\n And that’s where you’ll find a door. It’s the only way forward, so you can’t miss it. Open it to meet the Boatman, who offers his services.
