An Australian traveller got upset over what he considered unfriendly service at a bar in Lau Pa Sat, taking to social media to ask if it was \u201cnormal service\u201d in Singapore.<\/p>\n
TikToker @CHRISTOS shared a video of the encounter<\/a> on Oct 9, with the in-screen caption reading: \u201cIs this normal service in Singapore? I just wanted to order some drinks.\u201d<\/p>\n The video starts with Christos greeting the server and placing his order \u2014 a pint of Tiger beer<\/a> and a cup of iced lemon tea.<\/p>\n The server tells him that his order costs $12 and extends her hand to receive the cash. But when Christos asks for the iced lemon tea, she gestures and says, \u201cbehind\u201d, which he appears to miss.<\/p>\n She proceeds to dispense the beer from a tap before placing the pint on the bar counter and walking off.<\/p>\n Christos grimaces at the camera and says: \u201cShe seems in a bad mood. What the heck?\u201d he asks.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s good beer though. Oh my gosh,\u201d he remarks, before resuming his protest against the service.<\/p>\n \u201cShe could have done it with a little bit of a smile. It would have gone a long way,\u201d he says, adding that he appreciates friendly service, though he understands \u201cnot everyone does that\u201d.<\/p>\n The video ends with him talking about his discovery that Tiger beer<\/a> is from Singapore and that it is the first time he has consumed it here, although he has had it in \u201cpretty much every Asian country\u201d.<\/p>\n
