In a new report by Bloomberg detailing the challenges Rockstar has faced during GTA 6\u2019s development, company leadership said whatever\u2019s next won\u2019t take as long because the work done for GTA 6 provides a foundation for following it up faster.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">\u201cThe engine, the tools and the team we\u2019ve built during this project will allow us to do things more quickly,\u201d Phil Hooker, co-head of development, said.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">\u201cI feel confident that we can build on top of this and go more sideways than upwards to build more compelling content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">\u201cWe foundationally changed a lot of stuff on this project,\u201d co-head of development Aaron Garbut added. \u201cBut now it\u2019s done, and we\u2019re not going to rip it apart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\" data-cy=\"article-slideshow\"><span data-cy=\"slideshow-view-trigger\"><\/p>\n<div data-cy=\"slideshow-preview\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 slideshow-preview\">\n<h3 class=\"title5 jsx-62124236 jsx-1085005187\" data-cy=\"slideshow-preview-title\">Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever<\/h3>\n<div data-cy=\"slideshow-images-container\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" data-cy=\"hero-image\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 hero-image\"><img alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" decoding=\"async\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"progressive-image jsx-2277167929 image aspect-ratio aspect-ratio-16-9 jsx-2605834259 jsx-2338608387 hover-opacity\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-cy=\"progressive-image\"\/><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/output><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">The question fans have is, what will Rockstar\u2019s next game be? Bloomberg compares the release of GTA 6 to GTA 3, in that the first 3D GTA game paved the way for the quickfire release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which launched a year later in 2002. Could Rockstar soon follow GTA 6 with another GTA game, perhaps focused on another city?<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Many hope and expect Rockstar to make Red Dead Redemption 3, although Rockstar itself hasn\u2019t indicated it has plans to do so. A year ago, Rockstar Games co-founder and former lead writer Dan Houser said RDR3 \u201cwill probably happen.\u201d In 2023, Roger Clark, who played Arthur Morgan, the main playable protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2,<u> said he was \u201ccertain\u201d fans would see Red Dead Redemption 3 \u201cone day,\u201d<\/u> but qualified that statement by saying he had no idea when that would be. Clark also ruled out the return of Arthur Morgan in the game, should it come to be. If you\u2019ve played Red Dead Redemption 2, this might seem like stating the obvious, but there\u2019s always the chance Rockstar may consider another prequel of some kind.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">\u201cI\u2019m certain we will see Red Redemption 3 one day,\u201d Clark said. \u201cWhen that will be \u2014 I have absolutely no idea. Don\u2019t count on Arthur\u2019s involvement either. His story has been told, I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\" data-cy=\"article-video\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">In<u> a subsequent interview with IGN<\/u>, Clark expanded on his thoughts: \u201cYeah, that got really picked up! I would have thought that was obvious though. Wouldn\u2019t you? And it\u2019s not like I have any insider information whatsoever, but of course there\u2019s going to be another Red Dead. It sold over 60 million copies!\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">He continued: \u201cStrauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two said it himself. He said GTA and Red Dead are prominent franchises for Rockstar Games and that they will be returning to them in the future. So there\u2019s no doubt there will be another Red Dead. But if Arthur Morgan will be involved? I highly doubt it, to be honest. And I think it\u2019s going to be quite some time before we even see a snifter of anything new Red Dead related. I have no idea how it would pan out, but I wouldn\u2019t bet on Arthur being a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">In April this year, Hollywood star Jack Black revealed the character he\u2019d love to play in Red Dead Redemption 3, should Rockstar make the game: Jack Black. In lieu of a Red Dead Redemption movie, which Black said he\u2019d very much love to star in if the opportunity ever came his way, the Bowser actor would love to star in Red Dead Redemption 3. And it turns out there\u2019s a character called Jack Black he\u2019d love to play.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">&#8220;Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place around the turn of the century, right?&#8221; Black told <u>Polygon<\/u> while promoting <u>The Super Mario Galaxy Movie<\/u>. &#8220;There was a character around that time named Jack Black, who wrote an autobiography called You Can&#8217;t Win.
