For Hong Kong\u2019s culture enthusiasts, sitting just a few seats away from Anthony Wong Yiu-ming at an art-house film screening or standing steps from him at an underground gig has long been a serendipitous staple of the city\u2019s arts scene. He is legendary for his ubiquitous presence as an ordinary spectator.<\/p>\n

Beyond his genuine enthusiasm as a fellow audience member, the 64-year-old Cantopop pioneer has spent decades shaping the city\u2019s pop landscape \u2013 as a decorated solo artist, one half of the legendary duo Tat Ming Pair and founder of the record label People Mountain People Sea.<\/p>\n

Across a four-decade-long career, the singer, songwriter and producer has refused to separate art from social advocacy, using his music to comment on politics, identity and civil liberties.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
