It combines an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with a Grace CPU, with systems supporting up to 128GB of unified memory and delivering up to one petaflop of FP4 AI performance. Instead of relying on cloud servers, RTX Spark gives developers and users enough hardware power to run considerably larger AI models directly on their PCs.

The first RTX Spark laptops are now available for pre-order, while compact desktop systems are expected to follow in November. Acer, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI are among the first PC makers preparing RTX Spark machines. Microsoft’s own Surface Laptop Ultra is naturally one of standout RTX Spark machines – I was already very impressed by the laptop’s solid build and make despite my short time with it at Computex

I’ll have more to say about RTX Spark, Microsoft’s plans for the platform and what it could mean for Windows PCs in a separate feature (Update: It’s published below).

NVIDIA is also bringing DGX Station to Windows

Photo: HWZ

The other notable announcement is NVIDIA DGX Station for Windows, which brings the company’s much more powerful deskside AI system into the Windows ecosystem.

Until now, DGX Station has been a Linux platform targeted at AI developers and researchers. The new Windows version means users can work within their existing Windows environment while still accessing Linux AI tools through Windows Subsystem for Linux when needed.

And this is considerably more powerful hardware than the RTX Spark machines, which is aimed at more conventional and even mainstream PC users.

DGX Station for Windows uses NVIDIA’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip, with 748GB of coherent memory and up to 20 petaFLOPS of FP4 AI performance. NVIDIA says that is enough capacity to run AI models with as many as a trillion parameters locally.

There is no availability date yet for DGX Station for Windows.

Between RTX Spark launching this month and DGX Station making its way onto Windows, NVIDIA is clearly trying to put more of its AI hardware into PCs into offices and homes – not just AI data.

NVIDIA has revealed that its RTX Spark laptops will be available starting from 16 October.
