SINGAPORE \u2013 The Dubai-based company that created the world-famous \u201cDubai chocolate\u201d \u2013 a chocolate bar with pistachio cream and crunchy kataifi filling \u2013 has set up shop at Changi Airport with a pop-up store at Terminal 1\u2019s transit area. <\/p>\n
The pop-up, which will run for three months until end-January 2026, is Fix Dessert Chocolatier\u2019s first in Asia. <\/p>\n
Chocolate lovers can now get their hands on crowd-favourite Can\u2019t Get Knafeh of It, known commonly as \u201cDubai chocolate\u201d, at the store daily from 6am to midnight.<\/p>\n
In response to a query from The Straits Times, distributor FNA Group said the flavours available at the pop-up are Can\u2019t Get Knafeh Of It in milk and dark chocolate, Pick Up A Pretzel \u2013 a bar filled with kataifi and salted caramel pretzel pieces \u2013 in milk and dark chocolate, and the speculoos-filled Mind Your Own Biscuit in white chocolate.<\/p>\n
The bars retail for $34.90 before goods and services tax (GST), it said. Departing travellers are exempt from paying GST. <\/p>\n
FNA Group said it will be absorbing GST for airport staff with valid seasonal airport passes.<\/p>\n The pop-up will be open at the transit area of Changi Airport’s Terminal 1 daily from 6am to midnight.<\/p>\n PHOTO: CHANGI AIRPORT\/FACEBOOK<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n However, those who purchase the chocolates on arrival will have to pay a 9 per cent GST on top of the retail price, which adds up to $38.<\/p>\n Fix Dessert Chocolatier was founded in 2021, but the candy became a global phenomenon only after a February 2024 video of TikTok food influencer Maria Vehera eating a bar in her car went viral.<\/p>\n The worldwide frenzy over the dessert <\/p>\n sparked remakes, including in Singapore<\/p>\n <\/a>. <\/p>\n The company has previously hosted pop-ups in New York and London.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/picture><\/div>
