An internal combustion engine (ICE) car caught fire along Sengkang East Road at about 7.55pm on Friday (Oct 2) evening.<\/p>\n
Videos of the incident posted on social media show the car stopped at the bus bay outside The Vales executive condominium.<\/p>\n
Flames are seen coming out of the bonnet area of the vehicle, while several passers-by use fire extinguishers to help keep the fire under control.<\/p>\n
A Go-Ahead Singapore bus captain also stops briefly to hand over a fire extinguisher to those helping, before continuing with his journey.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a member of the public is seen helping to divert traffic away from the area.<\/p>\n
In response to AsiaOne’s queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that the fire involved the engine compartment of said car.<\/p>\n
Firefighters used a water jet to extinguish the fire.<\/p>\n
There were no reported injuries in the incident and the cause of the fire is under investigations.<\/p>\n
