A 25-year-old man was arrested on Friday (Oct 2) for his alleged involvement in a case of motorcycle theft.<\/p>\n
Police said in a news release on the same evening that they were alerted to the case at Fernvale Street on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the man’s identity through extensive ground enquiries.<\/p>\n
Investigations have revealed that the man did not possess a valid driving licence and that the motorcycle’s key had been left at its ignition slot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The man will be charged in court on Saturday with the offence of theft of motor vehicle.<\/p>\n
If found guilty of the said offence, he could be jailed for up to seven years and fined.<\/p>\n
Motorcycle owners are advised to park their vehicles in well-lit areas and to always remove the ignition key and lock their motorcycles, whenever it is left unattended.<\/p>\n
Spare keys or transponders should never be left inside any storage compartments of the motorcycle, the police said.<\/p>\n
