Honor has updated its highly practical X9 series with its latest 2026 model, the Honor X9e Pro 5G. This cycle brings a massive battery upgrade, while maintaining the high durability that’s almost synonymous with its predecessors.

Its headlining feature is the huge battery tank of 11,000mAh, which is 32% larger than the previously reviewed Honor X9d. Despite the increase, Honor was able to keep the X9e Pro 5G to just 8.08mm thickness and a lightweight 203g.

To support its power bank capacity, it offers 80W wired (Honor SuperCharge), which is faster than its previous 66W. It can also charge other portable devices via its 27W wired reverse charging.

Like previous X9 series phones, Honor X9e Pro 5G retains its durability reputation. Its drop resistance is now SGS Premium Performance 5-Star certified, capable of withstanding 3-metre drops across 10 surface types (including cobblestone, asphalt, rough granite, and more).

Its durability comes from Honor’s Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 4.0, which adopts the same crash protection system seen in open-wheel racing vehicles.

Adding to its rear toughness is an extra 360° Dynamic Drop Resistance, which can withstand drops of up to 1.2 metres from all angles, helping to reduce screen damage risk by up to 82%. This is also certified by SGS under its Comprehensive Reliability rating, at five stars.

Piling onto its endurance slant are IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, which allows the Honor X9e Pro 5G to tolerate water jets and high-temperature water. In addition to ratings, Honor also made sure it can survive 10-metre deep submersions via 10,000 test cycles.

As a smartphone, it features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 10,000 nits peak brightness (800 nits typical). Powering it all is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, running on MagicOS 10 (Honor’s Android UI).

For imaging, it uses dual rear cameras: a 108MP main (f/1.75 aperture) and a 5MP ultrawide (f/2.2). Features include 15x digital zoom and Live Photo support, while its algorithms add AI Zoom, AI Night, and AI Portrait enhancements.
