Is it more powerful suction, smarter navigation, or perhaps something not quite expected \u2013 like a mechanical arm? Dreame packs all of these into its new X60 Ultra Extreme, but the more important question is this: Do they make enough of a difference to replace a robot vacuum that may already be cleaning your home perfectly well?<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The X60 Ultra Extreme sits above the X60 Ultra that I reviewed earlier this year. Suction power has risen from 36,000Pa to<b> 42,000Pa<\/b>, while the side brush can now extend <b>up to 12cm<\/b> and one of the mop pads even go as far as <b>18cm <\/b>\u2013 thanks to what Dreame calls<b> Dual UltraExtend Arm Tech<\/b>. Now, I\u2019m not convinced that more suction is what most Singapore homes need, because recent flagship robot vacuums already have enough power to pick up everyday dust and dirt.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"_base_1pos7_1 _tiktok_1pos7_32\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed\/v2\/7690604763913800978?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.5625\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share;\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">What I\u2019m really intrigued about though, is the new UltraExtend Arm Tech, which are designed to get farther into corners, beneath cabinet edges and along skirting boards. Its 42,000Pa suction certainly sounds impressive, but I cannot say that it makes the floor look dramatically cleaner than the X60 Ultra\u2019s 36,000Pa. Both collect most loose debris in one pass. That said, the extra power is more apparent when it comes to cleaning rugs, where particles settle deeper into the fibres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Where I noticed the improvement was in how little tidying up I had to do afterwards. With many robot vacuums, I can usually trace their route from the thin line of dust left along a wall or the debris still sitting around furniture legs. The X60 Ultra Extreme, thanks to its ultra-extendable arms, left fewer of these obvious misses, particularly around the cabinets and chair legs. Dreame uses two <b>120-degree AI cameras<\/b> and says the robot recognises more than 320 types of objects. Around chairs, slippers and my dog\u2019s toys, it moved close enough to clean properly without constantly bumping into them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">While the DJI Romo P that I reviewed recently navigated around clutter more confidently, the X60 Ultra Extreme\u2019s overall cleaning system feels more complete. Its extendable arms also reach farther into the awkward gaps and edges that nearly every robot vacuum I have tested tends to miss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Mopping is where I am less convinced. The two rotating pads work powerfully enough to remove paw marks, footprints and lighter dried stains. On a few occasions, however, I noticed the damp pads gathering fine dust into small clumps and leaving them behind. Once dry, these became gritty little lumps of dirt on the floor. It did not happen often, to be fair, but it meant I occasionally had to clean up after the robot had finished.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">Such experiences only harden my belief in continuously rinsed roller mops, such as those used Dreame Aqua 10 Roller AE and Dyson Spot+Scrub AI. A roller is scraped and refreshed as it moves instead of using the same pads until the robot returns to its dock. The Aqua 10 Roller AE gave me more confidence across a larger dirty area, while the Dyson was particularly good at wet cleaning and identifying stains. Its 42,000Pa suction power is certainly impressive on paper, but it is not enough on its own to justify upgrading from a recent model. After all, the DJI Romo P, Dreame\u2019s own X60 Ultra and the Aqua 10 Roller AE are already very good at vacuuming.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">What makes the Extreme more interesting to me is its reach. The longer side brush and mop arm can clean areas that other robots tend to miss. Add reliable navigation, obstacle avoidance and a multi-functional dock, and this feels like one of Dreame\u2019s more complete all-rounders. There are compromises, of course. But even at the promotional price, it is a tough sell, simply because Dreame\u2019s already excellent Aqua 10 Ultra Roller costs more than S$400 less and has the better wet-mopping system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">That leaves the X60 Ultra Extreme in a rather specific position. It is the Dreame robot vacuum I would choose if reaching beneath low furniture, cleaning closer to edges and crossing higher thresholds mattered more than having a continuously rinsed roller mop. Otherwise, the Aqua 10 Ultra Roller offers a more sensible balance of price and cleaning ability.
