Hong Kong designer Kinyan Lam\u2019s autumn\/winter 2026 collection, Grounded, is more than a seasonal drop. It sets a clear vision for the future of his eponymous brand: that slowing down is the only way forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard a saying that plants and trees have two ways of growing: they explode into the world, but their roots continue to dig deep into the soil,\u201d says Lam, who is in his thirties. \u201cRight now, I am just a small tree, and I want to grow my roots deeper so I can grow into a big tree. This is a moment for our brand to become really grounded.\u201d<\/p>\n

After studying at the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), Lam went on to earn a master\u2019s degree at the London College of Fashion from 2019 to 2020. He later returned to Hong Kong to teach at his alma mater, where he developed a passion for textiles and natural dyeing. In 2021, he founded Genau Studio, which offers garment-dyeing services and workshops focused on natural dyes.<\/p>\n

Lam credits his love for nature to his childhood growing up in a small village in China\u2019s Guangdong province, before he moved to Hong Kong aged 10.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
