The Croatian couple\u2019s journey spanned the cities of Beijing, Xian, Chengdu and finally Shenzhen.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Visiting China for the first time, they quickly adapted to the country\u2019s dominant mobile payment ecosystem, using Alipay and WeChat Pay, two of China\u2019s largest payment platforms, for most of their spending. Both apps can be set up with an email address and linked to a foreign bank card.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cIt\u2019s super easy,\u201d Tomic said. \u201cAt first, I didn\u2019t know where to press [in the apps], but now I\u2019ve got used to it.
