Marvel’s Spider-Man<\/em> is a Magic: The Gathering<\/em> Universes Beyond set that came out in September 2025. Notably, the set lacked preconstructed Commander decks, a popular product for fans of Magic<\/em>‘s multiplayer variant. Magic<\/em>‘s head designer Mark Rosewater explained that Marvel’s Spider-Man<\/em> began its design cycle as a very small set, but then Wizards of the Coast decided to expand it. However, there wasn’t a lot of time for the pivot, so Commander decks were left on the cutting-room floor. Still, Rosewater also added that the product could appear in the future, a claim that seemed confirmed this past June by a leak, and now sees further support from new, unofficial information.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The X account @MTGOSalseo shared a picture on Sept. 25 with information about a Spider-Man Commander deck that should be released on Dec. 4. The information was apparently sent to the user by mistake, and there is no further confirmation of the leak at the time of writing. The deck is Jeskai (white, blue, and red) and it predictably features Peter Parker as the Commander, while Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales will feature as alternative Commanders.<\/p>\n According to the information, the deck will feature 50 cards with brand-new art, including 30 new cards and 20 reprints from Marvel’s Spider-Man<\/em> and Marvel Super Heroes<\/em>. For fans who are willing to spend more cash on their Magic<\/em> products, the deck will also come as a Collector’s Edition, where all cards are in the surge foil treatment. This marks the fifth time that Wizards of the Coast has issued fully-foil collector’s edition Commander decks for a set, after Warhammer 40,000<\/em>, Modern Horizons 3<\/em>, Final Fantasy<\/em>, and Marvel Super Heroes<\/em>.<\/p>\n While the information remains unconfirmed by official sources, the leak seems plausible enough, and in line with what surfaced earlier this summer. The Marvel’s Spider-Man<\/em> collection might not have been particularly well-liked among competitive Magic<\/em> players, but Commander remains the most popular, and lucrative, segment of the game.
