A durian stall in Yishun has appealed to a man who allegedly took a staff member’s mobile phone to return it, after the act was captured on CCTV.<\/p>\n
Sharing a video of the incident on its Facebook page on Sunday (Sept 20), the stall, Durian Lah, said it was giving the man a chance to return the phone, warning that it would otherwise lodge a police report.<\/p>\n
“You stole our staff’s mobile phone in broad daylight. We are giving you the opportunity to return it immediately,” it wrote.<\/p>\n
“If it is not returned, we will make a police report and provide the relevant CCTV footage and evidence to the authorities. Please do the right thing and return the phone.” \u00a0<\/p>\n
Responding to AsiaOne’s queries, a spokesperson for Durian Lah said the incident occurred on Sept 20 at around 6.13pm at its Yishun outlet. The spokesperson added that a police report was subsequently filed on Sept 22.<\/p>\n
In the footage, a man wearing a white shirt with one hand bandaged can be seen smoking a cigarette while standing near the entrance of the stall.<\/p>\n
He appears to notice the CCTV camera and paces around the area before allegedly pocketing a mobile phone left on a table and walking away.<\/p>\n
Responding to queries from AsiaOne, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n
