Anyone remember tamagotchis? Mark Zuckerberg does, apparently. In the Meta Connect 2026 <\/b>event that recently concluded, the company announced something out of left-field \u2013 a tamagotchi-like handheld device called the Muse Charm<\/b>.<\/p>\n
As you\u2019d expect, the Muse Charm serves as a dedicated device to talk to Meta\u2019s Muse AI agent, without needing to open a browser or download an app. On stage, Zuckerberg emphasised that Meta packed the entire \u201cMuse experience\u201d into the Charm<\/b>, including real-time voice and the Muse AI avatar that was also showcased at Meta Connect.<\/p>\n
This means that the Muse Charm should be capable of everything Muse AI can do, including setting and tracking goals for you, acting as a sounding board for your ideas, creating travel plans, purchasing items, and more. Considering that you need to sign up for Muse to use the Charm, however, your usage of it will likely be limited to how many tokens you get in your Muse subscription.<\/p>\n
Given that it\u2019s a dedicated device and not an app on a phone, it\u2019s unclear whether it\u2019ll have the integration with third-party services that Meta touts Muse as having. We also don\u2019t know how exactly it\u2019ll connect to the internet when you\u2019re out and about, though it\u2019s not a stretch to assume it\u2019ll have a Wi-Fi chip inside.<\/p>\n Zuckerberg showed off the Muse Charm as a \u2018One more thing\u2019 at Meta Connect 2026.<\/p>\n Screenshot: Meta YouTube channel<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n In fact, we don\u2019t have many details about the Muse Charm, though we can make a few inferences. A fingerprint sensor on the top right corner allows you to talk to Muse (whose avatar is shown on the small display), so we know that there\u2019s at least an on-board microphone, plus biometrics to ensure some form of security.<\/p>\n The jury\u2019s still out on whether the device will have a camera, though if it does, it\u2019s at least more conspicuous than the cameras on Meta\u2019s glasses.\u00a0<\/p>\n Speaking of which, Zuckerberg commented that the Charm will be the fastest way to talk to Muse without Meta\u2019s AI glasses.
