A man was caught glancing at a CCTV camera twice before allegedly making off with a staff member\u2019s phone from a durian stall in Yishun.<\/p>\n
In a Facebook post uploaded on Sept 22, the Durian Lah \u2014 the durian chain stall in question \u2014 shared CCTV footage<\/a> showing the alleged theft.<\/p>\n In the footage, dated Sept 22 at around 6.13pm, a man wearing an arm brace is seen standing beside a table at the stall and smoking.<\/p>\n He glances in the direction of the CCTV<\/a> before turning his back and positioning himself beside the table, where two phones are left unattended.<\/p>\n A few seconds later, he glances at the camera again before appearing to look down at one of the phones.<\/p>\n He then turns to the side and, in one swift motion, swipes the phone off the table and into his pocket.<\/p>\n The man subsequently walks out of the stall, as if nothing had happened.<\/p>\n In the post, Durian Lah said the man had stolen a staff member\u2019s phone \u201cin broad daylight\u201d.<\/p>\n The chain added that it was giving the man an opportunity to return the device before they lodge a police report and provide CCTV footage to the authorities.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease do the right thing and return the phone ASAP,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n Responding to Stomp\u2019s queries, a Durian Lah staff member said the incident happened at its Yishun<\/a> outlet.<\/p>\n The company has lodged a police report on Sept 22.<\/p>\n Responding to Stomp\u2019s queries, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n Have something to say?
