Not only do they expand the amount of ports it has, but many of them also offer features your laptop might not have, including gigabit ethernet, SD card slots, HDMI and DisplayPort output, and more. This Baseus 17-in-1 USB-C hub, as the name suggests, runs the gamut of ports that include USB, display output, SD card storage and ethernet. It also supports USB Power Delivery so you can charge devices like the laptop you\u2019ve connected the hub to, your phone or TWS earbuds (though it does come with a caveat, which we\u2019ll get into later).\u00a0<\/p>\n
It also looks pretty stylish, coming with a vertical stand. While this might mostly be a cosmetic design feature, it does make cable management easier, as cables won\u2019t be running across the desk and are thus easier to bundle up.<\/p>\n
A myriad of USB ports<\/h3>\n The Baseus 17-in-1 USB-C Hub could classify as a docking station, as it has a total of 9 USB ports, with 7 of them usable for data transfer. This includes 5x USB-A ports, three of which are the slower USB 2.0 (480Mbps) and two of which are the faster USB 3.0 (5Gbps). Just a note, USB 3.0 is an older term; it\u2019s marketed today as USB 3.2 Gen 1, but know that both labels share the same 5Gbps speed.<\/p>\n
It gets slightly more complicated for Type-C ports. The Baseus hub has 2x USB-C ports capable of data transfer at 5Gbps on the front. It also has two USB-C ports on the back, though one is used for power delivery input, and the other solely connects the hub to your PC or laptop.<\/p>\n
Triple display output<\/h3>\n If you own a Windows laptop or PC, this hub is also capable of triple display output, thanks to the 2x HDMI and 1x DP ports on the back. Each port is capable of up to 4K@60Hz display output, though do note that if you intend to actually use three monitors with this, it can only go up to 3x 1080p@60Hz monitors.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Power Delivery, Storage and more<\/h3>\n The Baseus hub also supports 100W power delivery via USB-C, though the hub itself only acts as a passthrough. That means that you will have to connect an external USB Power Delivery source to it \u2013 for example, your laptop charger \u2013 via the dedicated Power Delivery USB-C port on the back. This does mean that, aside from the DC 12V port powering the entire USB-C hub, you may need to sacrifice another power outlet to get the most out of this hub.<\/p>\n
The hub does support gigabit ethernet, having a RJ45 port at the back, as well as audio input and output thanks to the 3.5mm audio jack on the front.<\/p>\n
Also on the front are two card slots, one for SD cards and another for TF cards. Both these slots support data transfer speeds of 104MBps (that\u2019s megabytes, not the smaller megabits).<\/p>\n
