Moderate to heavy thundery showers swept across most parts of Singapore on Tuesday (Sept 22) afternoon, but a car was engulfed by flames in Tampines.<\/p>\n
The incident happened at about 5.45pm near the junction of Tampines Road and Tampines Avenue 10.<\/p>\n
Videos and photographs of the incident seen by AsiaOne show the fire is seen only at the engine compartment of the vehicle early on.<\/p>\n
Flames later engulf it completely, as thick black smoke billows from it.<\/p>\n

In response to AsiaOne’s queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said its firefighters extinguished the fire using a waterjet and a hose reel, adding there were no reported injuries.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire is under investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
