Unless you\u2019ve been living under a rock, you might have heard that Apple has finally unveiled its first foldable iPhone. It\u2019s called the iPhone Duo<\/b> and one of its standout features is support for Apple Pencil. To that end, Apple may have originally planned to have a customised Apple Pencil that would work with its first-ever foldable.<\/p>\n

According to Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman, Apple initially designed a smaller, shorter Apple Pencil specifically for the iPhone Duo. <\/b>The custom-designed Apple Pencil was reportedly intended to attach to the device\u2019s hinge, giving users a convenient way to carry it alongside the foldable iPhone.<\/p>\n

However, the device reportedly ran into \u201ctechnical problems\u201d before its mass production. As a workaround, Apple is reportedly adding support for the existing Apple Pencil (USB-C). Because Apple had to adapt its software to support Apple Pencil input on the iPhone Duo, the functionality will not be ready until the end of the year<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The iPhone Duo marks Apple\u2019s first entry into the foldable smartphone market. Pre-orders are expected to begin on 16 October, with prices starting at S$3,099.<\/p>\n
