{"id":86553,"date":"2026-09-21T00:24:05","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T16:24:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=86553"},"modified":"2026-09-21T00:24:05","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T16:24:05","slug":"phishing-scams-using-singapore-police-logo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=86553","title":{"rendered":"Phishing scams using Singapore police logo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"text-primary article-summary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 Be careful if you receive a pop-up alert on your device that bears the Singapore Police Force\u2019s (SPF) logo, warning you that it has been locked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Explaining this scam variant, the police said in a press statement on Sept 20 that victims had encountered fake alerts bearing the SPF logo which claimed that their personal devices had been \u201clocked\u201d for repeatedly accessing websites with illegal content.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Victims were then told to pay purported outstanding fines within hours to unlock their devices.
