If you’re familiar with what ‘Sensa’ refers to, then you’ll know that Razer has just brought one of the features on its Kraken V4 Pro down to the V4 X line.

And in case you don’t know, Sensa HD is Razer’s proprietary haptic technology. It hasn’t really seen widespread implementation across Razer’s catalogue, but the products the company have chosen to implement it in have been rather unconventional.

The most obvious one would be their Wolverine V3 Pro controller, but it’s also seen usage in their Freyja gaming chair and, of course, the Kraken V4 Pro. This makes the Kraken V4 X the fourth product to feature Sensa haptics.

This is the second Razer headset to support Sensa haptics, a full S$450 cheaper than the Kraken V4 Pro.

Image: Razer

In the context of the Kraken headset, Sensa HD is able to output haptic effects based on gameplay and game audio elements. Razer states that it’s also low latency, with a response time below 20ms.

Sensa HD haptics consist of two different haptics modes. Dynamic Haptics refers to games that have built-in support for Sensa, tailored to the game by its developers. Audio-to-Haptics (A2H), meanwhile, refer to Razer-tuned profiles for games that don’t have built-in Sensa support. Games with full Sensa HD integration are able to switch between Dynamic Haptics and A2H; some of these titles include Marvel Rivals, 007 First Light and Mortal Kombat 11.

It’s worth noting that this is different from HyperSense haptics, which was implemented in the previous generation of Kraken headsets. Sensa is directly integrated into certain games, and developers are able to author their own haptic effects based on specific in-game cues, whereas HyperSense was purely reactive to game audio.

You can find the list of Sensa-integrated games here, and the list of A2H profiles here. Do note, however, that Sensa integration only works with the PC versions of the games listed.

The rest of the Sensa-enabled Kraken is similar to the standard Kraken V4 X.

Image: Razer

As for the rest of the Sensa-enabled Kraken V4 X, it’s pretty similar to the standard Kraken V4 X.
