Singtel is giving SkillsFuture learners free access to a bundle of premium AI tools, as Singapore steps up efforts to help workers build practical AI skills rather than viewing AI as a bystander.<\/p>\n
The Singtel AI Pass gives eligible learners access to a suite of paid AI services for three months, followed by another three months of access to a single tool. Singtel says the bundle is worth around S$550 and is available to people who sign up for selected AI courses supported by the Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA). SWDA was formed by merging SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore, bringing training, employment support and workforce development under one agency.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The launch ties directly into a wider national push announced at SkillsFuture Festival 2026. SWDA has rolled out more than 200 curated AI courses covering areas such as applying AI, enhancing workplace productivity, and developing advanced capabilities for AI-enabled roles and business transformation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As part of this AI push, eligible Singapore citizens aged 18 and above who attend these courses will receive six months of complimentary access to selected premium AI tools:\u00a0<\/p>\n

As we mentioned earlier, Singtel says learners get free access to a set of AI tools for three months, after which they can select one tool to access for a further three months. Singtel added that the tools provided can change over time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Singtel\u2019s AI Pass is less about giving learners access to a chatbot and more about exposing them to different types of AI tools. The current bundle includes:<\/p>\n

- Hailuo AI for text-to-video and image-to-video generation<\/li>\n
- Otter.ai for meeting transcription, summaries and action items<\/li>\n

- MiniMax Audio for voice and music generation<\/li>\n
- Akool for generative video and image work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
This allows learners to try multiple tools while they are learning about AI, rather than finishing a course and then having to decide whether paying for premium software is worth the cost.<\/p>\n
Even better, no credit card is needed to redeem the pass. Eligible learners receive a voucher code from SWDA and redeem it through Singtel\u2019s CAST.SG platform, then receive activation codes for the individual AI services.<\/p>\n
How AI training is becoming part of Singapore\u2019s workforce strategy<\/h2>\n

At the launch of the SkillsFuture Festival 2026, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said that AI would reshape work across every part of Singapore\u2019s economy. He stressed that the jobs that remain will change in content, required skills and career pathways.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This new AI initiative sits inside a larger restructuring of Singapore\u2019s workforce and training support.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Singapore Government\u2019s response is increasingly focused on pairing training with access to the tools themselves. As part of this, the focus is moving away from treating AI courses as standalone training and towards linking them with actual tools, career guidance and workplace use.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It follows comments the Prime Minister made earlier in 2026, when he noted that many Singaporeans were already using AI but often only as an enhanced search tool. The aim, he said, was to help workers go beyond basic querying and learn how to use AI more productively.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Also announced yesterday, the SWDA opened \u201cConnect by SWDA<\/b>\u201d at the Lifelong Learning Institute in Paya Lebar. The centre combines career guidance, learning support and employment assistance, while employers can get help with job redesign, workforce transformation and training.\u00a0<\/p>\n
To help Singapore workers find out how much they already know, or still need to learn about, AI, SWDA has introduced an AI Ready Quiz with the Singapore Institute of Technology. The online assessment contains 12 questions, takes about 15 minutes and produces a personalised AI readiness profile with recommended courses and learning resources.<\/p>\n

Rather than having to try different AI tools on their own, Singtel\u2019s AI Pass gives learners access to multiple AI tools designed for specific tasks, such as research, automation, meetings and transcription, multimedia creation, and agent-based work.<\/p>\n
The AI Pass voucher is also personal and non-transferable. Learners need to redeem it through CAST.SG and use the same email address when activating the included tools. The bundle is also tied to selected SWDA-supported courses rather than being free to every Singtel subscriber.<\/p>\n
Under Singtel\u2019s AI Pass, Singtel is acting as the platform and access provider for AI Pass rather than the developer of the AI tools themselves. Its terms state that each service remains subject to the individual provider\u2019s terms, and Singtel does not guarantee or take responsibility for how these tools perform. `<\/p>\n
For workers interested in AI but unsure where to start, that lowers one of the more practical barriers. For just S$550<\/b> (and they don\u2019t even need to pay it themselves), they get access to several paid subscriptions while learning which one is useful.<\/p>\n
This matters because understanding AI in theory and knowing how to fit it into actual work are two different skills.<\/p>\n
A worker might use Otter.ai to turn meetings into notes and action items, Manus to research and assemble a presentation, or MiniMax Agent to automate routine tasks. These are far better learning experiences than sitting through a course without ever touching the tools.
