This cuts down the hardware needed around the fibre point, a core focus of SIMBA\u2019s solutioning with Huawei.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">One router alone\u00a0can\u2019t usually blanket a whole flat with good coverage, though. The bundle <b>adds two Huawei OptiXstar Wi-Fi 7 mesh routers<\/b>, giving you three Wi-Fi 7 access points to work around the concrete walls and layouts that could otherwise \u201ckill\u201d the internet signal in deeper sections of most Singapore homes.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"s-29-99-every-30-days-for-10gbps-and-three-wi-fi-7-points\" class=\"_subHeading1_1k87u_111 _base_1k87u_1\">S$29.99 every 30 days for 10Gbps and three Wi-Fi 7 points<\/h2>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">A two-year plan from SIMBA costs <b>S$29.99 per 30 days<\/b>, with SIMBA saying that this includes:\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"_nested_1lq60_1\">\n<ul class=\"_listElement_wioo3_107\">\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">The Wi-Fi 7 10Gbps ONR at S$699<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">Two OptiXstar Wi-Fi 7 2.5Gbps mesh routers at S$598<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">A home phone line at S$140<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">Installation at S$50 and NetLink Trust service activation at S$61.04<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">That comes to <b>S$1,548.04 of hardware and fees <\/b>bundled into the plan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The speed difference between the main 10G Wi-Fi 7 router and the two 2.5G OptiXstar mesh routers offered by SIMBA matters if you want to get closer to the full potential of a 10Gbps broadband connection.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"_listElement_wioo3_107\">\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">The 2.5G mesh routers run a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 configuration across 2.4GHz (up to 688Mbps) and 5GHz (up to 2,882Mbps) channels, with up to 3.57Gbps of combined wireless throughput and a 2.5GbE wired connection.<\/li>\n<li class=\"_listItem_wioo3_112\">The main 10G router adds a 6GHz band for <b>tri-band operation<\/b>, with speeds up to 1,032Mbps on the 2.4GHz channel, up to 4,323Mbps on the 5GHz channel, and up to 4,323Mbps on the 6GHz channel. That adds up to a combined wireless bandwidth up to 9.68Gbps, along with 10GbE WAN and LAN ports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">If speed and bandwidth across your home are a high priority, take note of where you might want to place your router, nodes, and connecting devices accordingly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">SIMBA has a second 10Gbps plan at the same <b>S$29.99 a month,<\/b> built around the eero Pro 7 10G router. That one is a single access point with add-ons available, and it needs a separate ONT, which SIMBA includes for free (worth <b>S$198)<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">The new Huawei bundle folds that job into the gateway and adds mesh coverage, so the two plans are really a choice between one box with extensions (for whole-home Wi-Fi coverage) and two boxes without (for increased autonomy and self-management).<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\"><b>Note:<\/b> The second OptiXstar mesh router is currently provided free as part of the new service launch, but it\u2019s not certain if they will continue bundling it that way in the future. It also has two 2.5GbE ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, EasyMesh and Huawei SmartLink support, and capacity for 32 connected devices per node.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_base_1s8rd_1 _default_1s8rd_12\">ViewQwest takes the opposite route with the same brand. Its plans start from <b>S$28.00 a month <\/b>and include OptiX Wi-Fi 7 packages built around the Huawei OptiXstar S800E SFP+ ONU, which plugs directly into the SFP+ port of your own networking hardware.
