As reported in The Korea Herald and The Korea Times, the current-generation gold standard is \u201conly\u201d up to 1.5K resolution at the same 165Hz refresh rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The reports said that the new breakthrough is designed for graphically intense mobile gaming, as it demands more cycles and processing from the chipset in real time.<\/p>\n
Samsung Display attained the new phone OLED standard by increasing the cross-sectional area of pixel signal wiring by 10%. This increase reduced electrical resistance, allowing each pixel to power up faster.<\/p>\n
Other breakthroughs include a new 22nm-manufactured display driver integrated circuit, which is more sophisticated than the previous 28nm version. The change improved power-consumption efficiency by 30%.<\/p>\n
The light-emitting diodes use newer organic materials and Samsung\u2019s polariser-free technology, along with three years of AI training to maintain brightness and colour uniformity. The result also gives the panel extra perks, including a peak brightness of 2,800 nits and 1% coverage of up to 10,000 nits.<\/p>\n
The first smartphone to feature Samsung Display\u2019s new panel is the iQOO 16, a premium phone gaming sub-brand of Vivo. The phone itself has yet to hit retail, as it\u2019s slated for a 29 September 2026 launch in Mainland China.<\/p>\n
