There&#8217;s been plenty of excitement since, and we&#8217;ve even seen preorders for the Metroid Ravenous Special Edition completely sell out in minutes across most retailers since the reveal.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">But $10 off the standard edition of the game isn&#8217;t a bad consolation prize if you were unable to secure a preorder for the special edition. <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Yet, what&#8217;s the deal with the immediate $10 discount at Walmart? Well, it&#8217;s actually fairly simple. As is Nintendo&#8217;s custom for this console generation, the MSRP for the game is $59.99 for digital copies and $69.99 for physical copies. <\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\"><\/p>\n<figure class=\"jsx-313219616\"><img alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" decoding=\"async\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"progressive-image article-image article-image-full-size jsx-1809694635 jsx-2338608387\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-cy=\"progressive-image\"\/><figcaption data-cy=\"caption\" class=\"caption jsx-1762799490 jsx-479945570 article-image-caption\">Metroid Ravenous is already down to $59.88 at Walmart.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/output><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">We&#8217;ve seen the same thing with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Star Fox, Fire Emblem: Fortune&#8217;s Weave, and Switch Sports Resort, among others. It&#8217;s a pretty easy way to save $10 if you&#8217;re planning to buy a physical copy anyway.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Amazon has always price matched the deal every single time, so you can also preorder there as well.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">The only thing to bear in mind is that these discounts are generally tied to the <em>preorder<\/em> period. Once Metroid Ravenous actually releases, I wouldn&#8217;t expect this $59.88 price to stick around.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">At least there&#8217;s no compromise with the physical release itself, either. That&#8217;s not quite the lowest price we&#8217;ve seen the Switch classic hit ($39), but an $18 saving is still pretty decent for such an incredible game. <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">But, there are a couple of other Metroid games to check out in the sale as well. That includes Metroid Prime Remastered for $27.97, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond for $41.99.<\/p>\n<h2 data-cy=\"title2\" class=\"title2 jsx-1903782357 jsx-3735650234\">What Is Metroid Ravenous?<\/h2>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Metroid Ravenous is set to launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2027. <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">A follow-up to Metroid Dread, it\u2019s a new 2D side-scrolling adventure for Samus, the space-faring bounty hunter.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\" data-cy=\"article-video\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">In the trailer, Samus says, \u201cI was attacked by unknown assailants and sustained grave injuries. I don&#8217;t know where I am, getting back to the surface won&#8217;t be easy.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">&#8220;My chances of getting off this moon are slim at best. Still&#8230; I will survive. And I will make it home. Even if I have to feed on my enemies to do so.
