{"id":85040,"date":"2026-09-15T07:26:59","date_gmt":"2026-09-14T23:26:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=85040"},"modified":"2026-09-15T07:26:59","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T23:26:59","slug":"air-quality-in-all-regions-of-spore-in-unhealthy-range","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgbuzz.com\/?p=85040","title":{"rendered":"Air quality in all regions of S&#8217;pore in unhealthy range"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"text-primary article-summary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE &#8211; All areas of Singapore had an unhealthy level of pollutants in the air\u00a0early on Sept 15.<\/p>\n<p>At 6am, the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) readings for the north (104), south (111), east (128), west (128) and central (154) regions all stood in the unhealthy range.<\/p>\n<p>Air quality is considered unhealthy when the 24-hour PSI is in the range of\u00a0101 to 200,\u00a0during which\u00a0the National Environment Agency (NEA) advises the public to\u00a0reduce outdoor activities.<\/p>\n<p>The air quality in Singapore had worsened on Sept 14 with the PSI\u00a0across the island, except for the north, hitting unhealthy levels,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/air-quality-in-singapore-remains-in-moderate-range-as-psi-drops-to-below-100?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><span class=\"inline font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"typography-test-id\">following several days in the moderate range<\/span><\/a>.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>The PSI reading for the north crossed the 101 threshold &#8211; when air quality is deemed unhealthy &#8211; at about 1am on Sept 15, rising to 102 from 99 at midnight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"responsive-iframe-base st_visuals st_visuals-embed\" title=\"st_visuals embed\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/multimedia\/graphics\/2026\/08\/singapore-haze-widget\/index.html\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"accelerometer;falseclipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share;\" loading=\"eager\" data-testid=\"responsiveIframe\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">PSI readings\u00a0of 51 to 100 are considered moderate, while values of\u00a00 to 50 are in the \u201cgood\u201d\u00a0range.<\/p>\n<p>The one-hour PM2.5 readings across the island on Sept 15 largely fell to normal levels, ranging from\u00a0<!-- -->32\u00a0to 44<!-- --> micrograms per cubic m, as at 6am.<\/p>\n<p>The exceptions were the central (66) and west (59) regions, where the PM 2.5 readings remained in the elevated range.<\/p>\n<p>Readings of 56mcg per cubic m to 150mcg per cubic m are considered elevated, while levels of 151mcg to 250mcg per cubic m are in the \u201chigh\u201d range.
