(Serkis is busy in New Zealand directing and starring in <u>The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum<\/u>.) <u>Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon was also spotted<\/u> on set.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">The signs and placards waved by the protestors\u2019 reveal the source of their anger and the first hint of the Court of Owls: \u201c<u>Court of Oligarchs<\/u>,\u201d  <u>\u201cCourt of Fouls,\u201d \u201cThe Richer Get Richer,\u201d \u201cOne Day The Poor Will Have Nothing<\/u>,\u201d \u201c<u>Re$i$t,\u201d \u201cEat the Rich<\/u>,\u201d <u>\u201cYour Greed is Killin Us,\u201d and \u201cOligarchs Gotta Go!.\u201d<\/u><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">There are also signs bearing Batman imagery, such as one that reads \u201c<u>Save Us<\/u>\u201d and another that features <u>the Batman mask with \u201cI\u2019m coming for you next\u201d<\/u> written below it.<\/p>\n<p><output class=\"box-wrapper jsx-2673806401\" data-cy=\"article-video\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">The irony in these images, of course, is that the protesters clearly view Bruce Wayne, the city\u2019s wealthiest man, as an enemy while embracing his alter ego Batman as a symbol of resistance against a corrupt system.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Most curiously, some protestors are <u>wearing white masks that fully hide their faces<\/u>. There is one particular <u>masked protester with a white anarchy symbol<\/u> drawn on his jacket, a look reminiscent of <u>the villain Anarky<\/u> in the game <u>Batman: Arkham Origins<\/u>. Might these masked protesters be his henchmen?<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">In the DC Comics, Anarky is Batman\u2019s most political adversary who uses violence against state and corporate institutions in a quest for social justice. Born Lonnie Machin, he is also one of Batman\u2019s youngest opponents and has sometimes been portrayed as an antihero rather than an outright villain. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-theme=\"light\">\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\" lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A protester with an A symbol on their jacket wearing a white face mask was spotted on the set of \u2018THE BATMAN: PART 2\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Anarky? <\/p>\n<p>(via @RayChand006) <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/18px5FXJKq\" class=\"link jsx-1337145738 jsx-3925284146 underlined\" data-cy=\"styled-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/18px5FXJKq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Batman Saga News (@TheBatmanSagaNW) September 13, 2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Although Anarky has been featured in both live-action (Arrow) and animation (Beware the Batman), he\u2019s never appeared in a Batman feature film. It should be noted that Matt Reeves has said the villain of The Batman: Part II has \u201c<u>never really been done in a movie before<\/u>.\u201d <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Or maybe that set photo is just of some random extra with an anarchy symbol on his chest and it isn\u2019t a hint at Anarky or his movement being a part of this movie at all.
