Final Fantasy 14<\/strong><\/em> will gradually bring back cosmetic rewards from The Feast PVP game mode, which was retired during the Endwalker<\/em> expansion in favor of Crystalline Conflict. Though The Feast is gone, Final Fantasy 14<\/em> director and producer Naoki Yoshida said Square Enix is bringing back some unobtainable prizes in response to player feedback.<\/p>\n

The Feast was a team-based arena PVP game mode that was available during the Heavensward<\/em>, Stormblood<\/em>, and Shadowbringers<\/em> expansions. Matches were decided by the medals each team gained from defeating other players. While the rewards for The Feast were purely cosmetic, some were restricted to the top 100-ranked combatants per data center, making them inaccessible to a majority of Final Fantasy 14<\/em> players. The Feast was retired during Endwalker<\/em>, with Crystalline Conflict taking its place as Final Fantasy 14<\/em>‘s preferred small-scale PVP battle mode.<\/p>\n

\n Final Fantasy 14 Is Bringing Back The Feast’s Rewards

During the conclusion of the 89th Letter from the Producer Live broadcast, Yoshida said (via translation from the r\/ffxiv Discord) that Final Fantasy 14<\/em> will bring back replicas of The Feast’s rewards in response to player feedback. With The Feast gone, most of the rewards were unobtainable. However, since the game experienced a player spike during Shadowbringers<\/em> and Endwalker,<\/em> this meant that there were more active players who missed out on The Feast game mode than before. Despite FF14<\/em>‘s player count evening out during Dawntrail<\/em>, Yoshida said that The Feast’s rewards would be gradually added back over time, though it is unclear how frequently that will be. Some of The Feast’s rewards that are potentially returning include armor sets and mounts, as shared on the r\/ffxiv subreddit by a Redditor named VanillaSeparate4493.<\/p>\n

Final Fantasy 14<\/em>‘s 7.4 update will also bring a major change to the glamour system, as Square Enix will loosen some restrictions on the armor types that players can wear on any Job. Once Patch 7.4 arrives on December 16, Final Fantasy 14<\/em> players can mix and match styles previously thought impossible. For example, a Dark Knight could glamour their armor to look like the ones used by Jobs, like White Mage and Pictomancer. However, weapon-based restrictions will remain in place due to animation limits.<\/p>\n

Currently, some of Final Fantasy 14<\/em>‘s past PVP series rewards are made available for purchase at The Wolves’ Den, which requires players to spend Wolf Marks or Trophy Crystals obtained from PVP modes. Given that most of The Feast’s past armor sets include plate helmets, it is unclear if some of them will be altered to fit Viera and Hrothgar characters following changes made in Final Fantasy 14<\/em>‘s 7.3 update.<\/p>\n
